Sun Yuchen’s lawyer, Zhang Qihuai, confirmed that Sun Yuchen had filed a lawsuit against Jing Tian and her parents due to a financial dispute, involving an amount exceeding 30 million yuan. On the evening of August 27th, prominent mainland lawyer Zhang Qihuai, acting as Sun Yuchen’s legal representative, released a statement regarding the case. He mentioned that Sun Yuchen initiated a civil lawsuit against “Ms. Jing and her parents” for a financial dispute, with the subject matter exceeding 30 million yuan, which had been filed in court. He stated that following the acceptance of the case, the “Ms. Jing” party raised objections to the jurisdiction, and currently, this objection is still under court review, and the case has not entered the substantive trial stage.
Zhang Qihuai confirmed to “Sina Entertainment” that the “Ms. Jing” referred to in the lawsuit is the well-known actress Jing Tian. He revealed that Sun Yuchen and Jing Tian were previously in a romantic relationship and had even discussed marriage, but they separated around the first half of this year. Sun Yuchen’s main demand is the “return of betrothal gifts.” He emphasized that “once a couple breaks up, returning the money should suffice.”
Zhang Qihuai additionally mentioned to “The Beijing News” that surrogacy issues were not yet part of the lawsuit, and the over 30 million yuan was specifically the requested return of betrothal gifts.
He stated that Jing Tian’s side has currently raised objections to the jurisdiction in the case, and this objection is still under court review, with the legal proceedings not having entered the substantive trial phase yet.
On the same night, Jing Tian’s studio issued a statement saying that reputation is an artist’s life and vulnerability, and they have the courage to say no to extortion using an artist’s reputation. They mentioned that they would leave everything to the court to handle and would not respond further except for any ongoing progress in safeguarding their rights.
Simultaneously, Sun Yuchen published a lengthy article on social media platform X titled “My Girlfriend Jing Tian,” describing in the first person their journey from acquaintance to relationship, engagement, and the development of a financial dispute, involving sensitive topics like surrogacy and large sums of money. The article concluded with a disclaimer stating “This article is purely fictional, any resemblance to actual events is purely coincidental,” but it specifically named “Jing Tian,” with a cover image of Jing Tian.
