In the early morning of April 14th, a major fire broke out at the BYD factory in Pingshan, Shenzhen.
Videos circulating online show thick smoke billowing from the scene, with a large area of the factory engulfed in the dense smoke.
According to several netizens, the fire occurred near the BYD Pingshan base, leading to temporary suspension of classes at nearby schools, with teachers and students delaying their return to school.
One netizen disclosed that the fire originated in the testing car garage, stating, “It is said that the competitive car after testing caught fire.”
“BYD company fire” quickly became a hot search topic on the internet.
Around 8 am on the 14th, the Pingshan District Fire and Rescue Bureau in Shenzhen reported that at 2:48 on the 14th, a fire broke out at a multi-story garage in Maluan Street, Pingshan District. Currently, the fire has been extinguished with “no casualties.”
As of now, BYD has not disclosed the cause of the fire or details of the damage incurred.
