According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, the earthquake occurred at 14:55 on May 29 in Tuokexun County, Turpan City (latitude 42.20 degrees north, longitude 88.22 degrees east), with a depth of 20 kilometers.
Villages within 5 kilometers of the epicenter include Leijiagou Village Thirteen Team and Kelkz Taimimailis, and towns within 20 kilometers include Kumish Town.
The epicenter is located 76 kilometers from Toksun County, 111 kilometers from Heshuo County, 115 kilometers from High Chang District in Turpan, 130 kilometers from Dabancheng District in Urumqi, 133 kilometers from Bohu County, 115 kilometers from Turpan City, and 184 kilometers from Urumqi City.
