According to Shaanxi TV news reports, on the afternoon of July 22nd, a mirage appeared over the skies of Binzhou, Xianyang, Shaanxi Province, with stacked buildings suspended in mid-air.
This rare phenomenon quickly caught the attention of local social media users, with many witnesses finding it mysterious.
Since the afternoon of the 22nd, the “mirage” over Binzhou, Xianyang, Shaanxi Province has been widely shared online.
Some netizens expressed that even though they were not present at the scene, seeing the stacked buildings suspended in mid-air in the video made them pause in amazement. The intertwining of reality and illusion in such visuals always gives people a surreal feeling, like being suddenly thrust into a movie scene amidst their busy daily lives.

According to mainland Chinese media, many on-site witnesses mentioned that the images on this mirage had a flat edge, with a clear boundary between the image and the sky and sea, making it a rare sight.
One interviewee, Mr. Ma, stated, “These images form a neat horizontal strip, extending from the left horizon to the right in the line of sight.” The image resembles a train made of building blocks, with various houses inside, supported by large columns. There is also a large ship moving and floating in the foreground, appearing colorful to the naked eye.
Mr. Ma mentioned that in his more than thirty years of living in the area, he had never seen a mirage before. Even if he had seen mirages on television, they were usually a mix of buildings or mountains with varying heights and shapes. Witnessing a mirage on site for the first time left him in disbelief.
In recent years, “mirages” have occasionally appeared in various parts of China, including Jiangsu, Heilongjiang, Xiamen, Dalian, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Xi’an, Chengdu, and Yunnan’s Weishan, among others.
