On September 1st, several Chinese mobile phone manufacturers collectively raised prices on some of their phones, involving brands such as Xiaomi, Huawei, and Honor. The price increases varied, with some models seeing an increase of over 200 yuan (RMB), and some flagship models even rising by as much as 1,000 yuan.
According to reports from “Jiangnan Metropolis Daily,” Huawei adjusted the prices of several of its phones by 1,000 yuan. For example, various configurations of the Mate 80 Pro series saw a price hike of 1,000 yuan each, with the starting price increasing from 5,999 yuan to 6,999 yuan, and the Mate 80 Pro Max starting price going up from 7,999 yuan to 8,999 yuan.
In the case of Xiaomi, prices were raised for the Xiaomi 17 series, REDMI K90 series, and REDMI Turbo 5 Max. Specifically, the starting price of Xiaomi 17 went from 4,799 yuan to 5,099 yuan, Xiaomi 17 Pro increased from 5,399 yuan to 5,699 yuan, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max rose from 6,499 yuan to 6,999 yuan, marking increases of 300 yuan, 300 yuan, and 500 yuan respectively.
The REDMI K90 Max and K90 Supreme Edition both saw a price increase of 400 yuan, raising their starting prices to 3,899 yuan and 3,699 yuan respectively, while the REDMI Turbo 5 Max went from 2,799 yuan to 2,999 yuan.
Honor also adjusted the prices of the Power2 and Magic8 series on September 1st. The various configurations of the Power2 increased by 500 to 600 yuan, with the starting price going from 2,699 yuan to 3,199 yuan; the Magic8 saw price increases ranging from 300 to 500 yuan, pushing the starting price from 4,499 yuan to 4,799 yuan.
This price adjustment by multiple mobile phone manufacturers on the same day covers mid-range to high-end models, with price increases ranging from over 200 yuan to 1,000 yuan.
