Three Cars Fall into Sinkhole in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, Causing Injuries and Deaths

On the evening of July 10th, a road collapse occurred in the urban area of Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, causing three vehicles to fall into the collapsed area, resulting in one fatality and one minor injury.

Several mainland Chinese media outlets reported that the emergency management bureau of the Qiaodong District in Zhangjiakou City issued a notification on July 11th. Around 10 p.m. on the 10th, a section of the road collapsed on the east side where Jiangguo Road intersects with Shengjian Street, from south to north. Three vehicles fell into the collapsed area. All four trapped individuals were rescued, with one person dead, one lightly injured, and the other two unharmed. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

A video circulating online shows that at the time of the incident, many people were watching, and several citizens used ropes to pull individuals from the fallen vehicles up from the collapsed site.
