New York Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA) has announced the launch of a month-long multilingual outreach campaign to promote the “Immigration Legal Support Hotline” in 17 languages, providing free immigration legal consultation services to all individuals regardless of their immigration status.
MOIA emphasized that all New York City residents, regardless of their immigration status, can access free and confidential legal assistance through the “Immigration Legal Support Hotline.” People can call 1-800-354-0365 directly, or dial 311 and mention “Immigration Legal” to be connected to the service in their preferred language for legal advice.
The outreach campaign will include posters and promotional materials in 17 languages, including English, Chinese, and Minnan, to increase awareness and usage of the hotline service among the public.
The hotline service hours are from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on Mondays, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Tuesdays, 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on Wednesdays, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and service is also available on the last Saturday of each month from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
MOIA Director, Faiza N. Ali, stated that in the ever-changing landscape of immigration enforcement, the city government aims to educate more immigrant communities about the legal resources available to them through various outreach methods. This initiative ensures that individuals can access reliable information in familiar languages to protect their rights.
