According to a public notice issued by the Public Security Bureau of Helan County in Yinchuan, Ningxia, on November 4, authorities received a report around 4 PM on November 2 concerning Huang’s disappearance in the Helan Mountain National Forest Park. Consequently, police, along with firefighters, emergency services, tourism and cultural department personnel, and staff from the scenic area, initiated a search and rescue effort.

Investigators learned through interviews along the route and by reviewing surveillance footage that Huang had arrived at the Helan Mountain National Forest Park solo at 9:18 AM on October 31.
