On Tuesday, May 20th, to celebrate “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt answered questions from children of White House journalists and officials. The children were very curious about all aspects of President Trump, prompting Leavitt to “reveal” some of the president’s personal preferences.
Fox News reported that the children’s questions mainly focused on President Trump, and Leavitt was compelled to disclose the president’s favorite ice cream flavor, his desired superpower, and whether he likes hugs.
“Oh, does he like hugs? You know, I think he does. I have seen him hug many children, his family, and our beautiful First Lady. So yes, I think he likes hugs,” Leavitt answered the first child’s question.
“What’s the most fun part of your job? What’s the most challenging part?” the next child’s question directly targeted Leavitt.
“I think the most fun part of my job is doing things like this in the briefing room with all of you and answering these fantastic questions. I think the most challenging part of my job is also doing things like this in the briefing room and answering all these questions,” she replied with a smile.
She added, “Reading the news is an important part of my daily work. I wake up, read the newspapers, watch the news, listen to all the things your parents report in the news. It’s a crucial part of my everyday work.”
The following child asked what President Trump’s favorite food is, to which Leavitt replied that he loves steak.
Leavitt then informed the next child that President Trump’s favorite ice cream flavor is the classic sundae.
“If the president could have a superpower, what would he choose? Great question,” Leavitt answered the next child’s question, “I think if he had a superpower, it would be the ability to snap his fingers and solve all of our country’s problems because he likes getting tasks done quickly, but sometimes it takes longer.”
“Just like today, he had to go to Capitol Hill to persuade people to vote in favor of his grand and beautiful bill (the Big Beautiful Bill, that is the tax bill),” Leavitt explained.
“I bet if he had a superpower, he could snap his fingers and immediately get it passed, but unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way,” she added.
