On August 1, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China announced that the 10th Ketagalan Forum is scheduled to be held on August 4. The forum will host Prime Minister Dlamini of Eswatini (commonly known as Swaziland), Honorary Chairman McCaul of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee as the opening keynote speakers, and also feature the first-time visit to Taiwan by former Finnish Prime Minister Marin for a special lecture.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a press statement indicating that in collaboration with the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, the “Ketagalan Forum: 2026 Indo-Pacific Security Dialogue” will take place on August 4. The Ketagalan Forum, now in its 10th edition, has become an essential platform for dialogue and interaction between Taiwan and international democratic partners, aiming to jointly promote democracy, peace, and prosperity in the region.
The 10th Ketagalan Forum will see distinguished guests such as Russell Dlamini, Michael McCaul, and Sanna Marin as the opening and afternoon speakers. Former Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland will deliver a keynote address during the luncheon.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned that the foreign dialogue participants will include notable figures from 9 countries across Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, and Latin America, comprising politicians, parliamentarians, and renowned scholars, who will engage in discussions on topics like democratic resilience, Indo-Pacific defense architecture, and the reshaping of non-red supply chains.
During the forum, there are plans to express concerns about the Chinese Communist Party’s “National Reunification and Progression Promotion Law,” urging the international community to unitedly condemn China’s illegal extraterritorial jurisdiction expansion and transnational suppression, and calling for like-minded allies to jointly counteract the “National Reunification and Progression Promotion Law” while cooperating to establish global defense resilience.
