On September 12, 2026, Chinese science popularizer Wu Jingping passed away suddenly at the age of 53. Wu Jingping, a science writer from mainland China, was known for his book “Darwin’s War,” in which he vigorously promoted the hypothesis of evolution.
According to a funeral announcement released by Chinese science popularizer Wang Jie on September 12, 2026, his dear friend and fellow science writer Wu Jingping passed away at Minhang District Central Hospital in Shanghai at 6:40 a.m. on September 12, 2026, due to a sudden cerebral infarction, at the age of 53.
Public information indicates that Wu Jingping was born in Beijing to a family involved in missile-related scientific research at a military research institute. He graduated from Shanghai Polytechnic University and was a member of the Shanghai Science Popularization Association.
Wu Jingping’s science popularization efforts mainly targeted young people. He delivered numerous science popularization lectures and guided tours at science museums and schools in Shanghai and the surrounding areas, leaving his mark at venues such as the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Shanghai Astronomy Museum, Shanghai Natural History Museum, as well as at middle and elementary schools.
His book “Darwin’s War” was adapted from his online audio program “Origin of Species” and fervently promoted the theory of evolution. In the book, Wu Jingping defended the criticisms against the theory of evolution and claimed that modern evolution theory is supported by genetics and genomics.
Starting from June 2023, Epoch Times website has been publishing a series of editorials titled “Insight into Evolution,” based on solid scientific research evidence, particularly the latest research findings, objectively and rationally analyzing the reasons why the evolutionary hypothesis is not tenable, and explaining the harms it poses to contemporary science and cultural aspects.
There are two main theories regarding human origins: “Creationism” and “Evolutionism.” Creationism has been passed down for thousands of years in human history, while “Evolutionism” was proposed after the first Industrial Revolution in the mid-19th century.
In 1859, British biologist Charles Darwin proposed the theory of evolution against the backdrop of significant societal changes brought about by the Industrial Revolution. He hypothesized that all living organisms have gradually evolved through natural selection from a common ancestor. According to this theory, human origins are intricately linked to the process of evolution – starting as inorganic matter evolving into organic matter, then progressing through plants, animals, primates, and finally modern humans. This theory has been regarded as the authoritative answer on human and species origins and has been incorporated into many textbooks.
“Insight into Evolution” points out that over the past century, various studies in paleontology, archaeology, and molecular biology have raised doubts about the theory of evolution. Through logical reasoning and experimental analysis, it has been found that the theory of evolution has many loopholes and fails to explain the formation of the complex human body structures.
Furthermore, extensive near-death experiences and scientific research on reincarnation have proven that human consciousness (soul) continues to exist independently after the physical death of the body, a fact that evolutionary theory fundamentally fails to provide a reasonable explanation for.
“Insight into Evolution” notes that under the mistaken understanding of the origin of life and life phenomena by the theory of evolution, and under the influence of its distorted philosophy of survival of the fittest, people’s ways of thinking have gradually changed. Humanity is drifting further away from the moral concepts passed down by ancestors of various ethnic groups worldwide, increasingly pursuing material pleasures and technological developments while neglecting the maintenance of moral foundations and exploration of spiritual life.
Moreover, the theory of evolution has profoundly and negatively impacted the development of various fields such as science, education, art, law, politics, etc. The current science and technology, founded on materialism, while promoting material development, have also brought about various drawbacks, even posing threats to human survival.
