According to a report by Xinhua News Agency on the 19th, around 5:30 pm on August 18, in Xinpucun Village, Dongdi Town, Changning County, a villager held a banquet for his children at home, which led to the collapse of a wall due to excessive rainwater accumulated on a temporary shed and the excessive tension from the ropes used to secure it. This incident resulted in “3 immediate deaths, 2 deaths after being sent to the hospital for rescue efforts, and another 17 injured individuals currently receiving treatment at the hospital”.
