Breaking News: Li Qiang Promotes Zhu Zhongming to Shanghai Deputy

On the eve of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, there continues to be ongoing adjustments in the personnel of local authorities. On September 30th, Zhu Zhongming, a “post-70s” official who had been promoted out of the usual sequence to the level of a department head, formally took office as the Mayor of Shanghai. It is worth noting that Zhu Zhongming is neither a member of the 20th Central Committee of the CCP nor a candidate member of the Central Committee, yet he has assumed this important position as Mayor of Shanghai. With his official assumption of office, his career intersecting with that of the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and the previously discussed “resume shrinkage” have once again become a topic of external discussion.

In recent days, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that two Chinese nationals had purchased authentic U.S. passports in Mexico and then used them to impersonate U.S. citizens when boarding flights to enter the United States. However, they were exposed by law enforcement officers at the airport during security checks due to discrepancies between their biometric information and the passport holders.
