On Sunday afternoon (September 6), an Amazon cargo plane veered off the runway at Miami International Airport and collided with multiple vehicles.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue announced on the social media platform X on Sunday that over 60 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units were on the scene to manage an aircraft-related incident. The plane went off the runway and hit several cars near Miami International Airport. Upon arrival, rescue personnel found the plane engulfed in flames due to the accident, with intense fire and thick smoke billowing. Firefighters worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire and assess the injured.

According to the airport spokesperson, all runways at the airport have been closed. The spokesperson confirmed that it was an Amazon Prime Air plane involved in the incident.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that the Boeing 767-300 cargo plane veered off the runway after landing at Miami International Airport around 2 p.m. local time on Sunday. The aircraft had departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
FAA has issued a comprehensive ground stop order for Miami Airport, suspending all flights.
According to the flight tracking website Flightradar24, the flight time of the aircraft that departed from San Juan slightly exceeded two hours.
