Fashion CEO Couple Found Dead in Their Mansion in the United States, Husband’s Investment Lost 100 Million

The 61-year-old CEO Bryan Walker and his 63-year-old wife Michelle Min of the upscale fashion brand Bryn Walker in California, USA, were found dead in their home, sparking speculations of murder-suicide. The police have not officially confirmed the nature of the case yet, and Michelle’s brother has revealed details to the media.

On October 2nd, Oakland police discovered the bodies of this “super-rich” couple in their luxurious mountain home near the University of California, Berkeley. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots, and when the authorities arrived, they found the couple’s bodies on the terrace outside their residence, with a gun nearby. No arrests have been made at this time.

Bryn Walker brand is known for catering to women who seek comfort, quality, and elegant style, as described on their website. The couple’s photo can be viewed here.

Michelle’s brother, Paul Min, stated that her husband Bryan Walker became mentally unstable after a series of risky investments led to financial ruin, ultimately culminating in a murder-suicide.

Paul Min told the California Post that his sister, as the primary operator of the company, had a stable and happy marriage with her husband for over 30 years. However, unbeknownst to her, Walker clandestinely mortgaged multiple family properties and ventured into high-risk options and leveraged trading, resulting in over $100 million in losses.

The massive loss plunged Walker into despair and mental breakdown. “We were worried he would commit suicide,” Paul recalled. “He curled up like a baby, crying for weeks, completely losing his will to live.”

Michelle was determined to salvage the situation. “Imagine if this happened to you? You would break down. Your spouse deceived you, lost over $100 million, and you could end up on the streets,” he said. “You could go from being one of the wealthiest people in the country to homeless, all because your husband lied to you and bet all the money on crazy gambling.”

Paul noted that Michelle cared deeply for her husband, making efforts to help him, feed him, comfort him, and shield him from the brink of a mental breakdown. She brought in top accountants from Chicago to clear up their finances, with the accountant revealing that their situation was not as dire as they feared, but it was too late.

Walker’s mental state continued to deteriorate, with family members describing him as “basically gone.” There were plans to put him in a mental hospital for treatment, which was scheduled on the day of the incident.

On the morning of the incident, Walker sent a text to a friend living across the street saying, “Call 911.” Concerned, the friend rushed to Walker’s residence. However, reports suggest that the fatal shots were fired before the friend arrived, as Paul stated that Walker had already shot himself and his wife.

According to Paul, Walker’s decision to shoot his wife was spurred by learning about his imminent admission to a mental hospital, as he had consistently refused most forms of psychiatric treatment before.

Surveillance footage captured the first gunshot at around 10:43 a.m., followed by a chilling male scream, before an eerie silence descended after the second shot was heard.

Police found a document resembling a suicide note, containing the couple’s phone passwords, indicating Walker had premeditated the act.

Paul mentioned that he would take over their fashion company, as the family is working to sort out the mess left behind by Walker.

“My sister loved Walker till the end, and he shot her,” Paul said. “She didn’t say anything harsh to him. She just said, ‘Bryan, you’re sick. It’s my fault, I should have understood you better. I should have known you were in crisis.’ She blamed herself. That’s who she was.”

“I feel like he [Walker] was just too weak to face it alone,” Paul said. “I always thought he was strong, but I never saw him tested. And when he lost the money, I kept telling him, ‘It’s just money.'”

“Why take the life of our beautiful sister?” he questioned. “Why not just end your own life?”

The Oakland Police Department is leading the investigation into the shooting, and they have not ruled out the possibility of murder-suicide.
