Hong Kong TVB former leading actress Tavia Yeung confirmed her cancer recurrence and metastasis to the lymph nodes in April this year, and has since been on a comprehensive hiatus for targeted therapy. Despite battling cancer actively, she was recently seen in Tokyo, Japan, celebrating with her husband Him Law. The latest photos show her radiant complexion without filters or editing, with tight skin and overall good condition in fighting cancer. Many netizens are cheering her on with words of encouragement.
Yeung was diagnosed with early-stage lung adenocarcinoma at the end of 2024 and underwent surgery, initially recovering well. However, she experienced persistent low-grade fever after the Lunar New Year in 2026 and was confirmed with cancer recurrence and lymphatic metastasis during a hospital check-up in April. Subsequently, she halted all work and began targeted drug treatment.
Facing the recurrence of cancer, Tavia Yeung admitted to initially struggling to accept it, but with the support of her husband and faith, she has now adopted a more positive attitude, stating that she has “never been so relaxed before”. During her break, she has resumed painting and started a new project, while maintaining a regimen of swimming to aid in her physical recovery. She expressed gratitude for all the supportive letters and gifts sent by fans to Him Law’s “Xiao Du Noodle Shop”.
Yeung sweetly praised Him Law, mentioning how he prepares three meals for her daily before going out, accompanies her to medical appointments, and calling him “The Best Husband in the World”.
Recently, Him Law shared a photo on Facebook of Tavia Yeung dining at the three-Michelin-starred restaurant “Sazenka” in Tokyo, captioning it with, “Camera malfunction, had to take the photo with my phone.” In the picture, Tavia Yeung is seen resting her chin on her hand, dressed in a dark-colored top, with exquisite makeup, showcasing smooth and tight skin in a natural and unedited photo, radiating a healthy flush, making it hard to tell that she is currently battling cancer. Many netizens and industry friends who saw Tavia Yeung’s improved condition left messages wishing her a speedy recovery and encouraging her to maintain a positive outlook during treatment.
Since the implementation of the controversial “National Security Law” in Hong Kong by the Chinese Communist Party, Him Law has gradually shifted his focus to Taiwan in both his personal life and career. Despite the challenge of Tavia Yeung’s cancer battle and complete work hiatus, he has made significant progress in his commercial ventures and performing arts career in Taiwan.
Reclaiming his identity as a filmmaker, Him Law has reached a milestone in the film and television industry in Taiwan. Apart from his participation in the highly anticipated Taiwanese epic series “Zero Day Attack,” where he portrays the character “Brother Qiang” and sings the movie’s theme song with lyrics by the renowned Lin Xi, his self-directed and self-written Taiwanese film “Ghost Tears” completed filming successfully in July this year. Produced by Zheng Xinmei, the film’s exciting storyline is adapted from the real crime story of one of Taiwan’s “Top Ten Shooting Criminals” in the 1980s to 1990s, Lin Laifu.
On social media platforms, Him Law expressed emotionally that it has been exactly ten years since his last directed work “Karate.” Despite being often referred to as a “businessman” in Taiwan now, he emphasized that he has never forgotten that he is a filmmaker at heart and is determined to produce a truly great film in Taiwan, undeterred by challenges and bringing captivating stories to the screen.
