Recently, actress Hwang Jung-eum, who previously starred in popular Korean dramas such as “She Was Pretty” and “Secret”, made a significant revelation in a YouTube video. She confessed for the first time that she had ruined her naturally beautiful face due to excessive plastic surgery. Hwang Jung-eum disclosed that she is currently undergoing costly corrective procedures in hopes of returning to her previous natural appearance.

Hwang Jung-eum admitted, “It was the desire to maintain beauty and even to become more beautiful that drove me to undergo these surgeries.” She mentioned that the societal pressure and trend of plastic surgery at that time had a negative impact on her, stating, “It seems like I was always trying to use my appearance to fill the void in my heart.” She also recounted how her mother became so distraught upon seeing her altered face that she would ask her to leave the room. Reflecting on her actions, she lamented, “I ruined my originally beautiful face by undergoing too many procedures. Now, I am undergoing restoration in the hopes of slowly returning to my former self.”
While she strives to regain her original appearance, the true cost lies not in the initial plastic surgery expenses but in the current restorative measures. Hwang Jung-eum disclosed that the previous surgeries cost approximately 20 million Korean won, but the restoration process to revert to her original look is estimated to reach a staggering 200 million Korean won, ten times the amount. She asserted that she is currently seeking a natural state and has decided never to undergo any further plastic surgery in the future.
