Standing Firm and Building Peace: I Still Have a Lot of Things to Do

After the recent visit of the Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping to the United States, Jielijian, the Chairman of the International Alliance of Chinese Democratic Party, was reported missing for over 24 hours following a protest against Xi’s visit. When he was finally found, he was in a state of unconsciousness and had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. On September 30, Jielijian himself confirmed his safety on social media, revealing details about his physical condition and issuing a “non-suicide statement,” promising to stay strong and continue living because he still has much to accomplish.

In a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter) at 8:38 pm Beijing time on September 30, Jielijian expressed his gratitude to all those who had shown concern for his well-being and to his friends who had participated in the search and discovery efforts. He shared that he is currently receiving treatment in the hospital, where he has been given a private room and is being monitored by two caregivers at the door. Despite vomiting after gastric lavage, he has been strictly prohibited from eating or drinking to prevent further episodes of vomiting. His consciousness has significantly improved, with fewer instances of fainting, headaches, and gallbladder pain.

Jielijian affirmed his determination to continue living resiliently. He declared, “I will continue to cherish my life, as there are many things I need to do for the national security of the United States. I solemnly swear that I will never choose suicide in any way to end my life. If my life is ended by suicide or death, it will be because of the Chinese government and agents of the Chinese Communist Party silencing me.”

During Xi Jinping’s visit to the United States from September 23 to 25, human rights groups organized by Jielijian protested extensively in Washington D.C. at the locations where Xi was visiting. Following the protests, Jielijian went missing abruptly.

From the afternoon of September 27 Eastern Time, Jielijian remained unreachable for over 24 hours, with unanswered phone calls and a cessation of updates on his personal social media accounts.

On September 29, Yang Maosen, founder of the New Era People’s Party of China, located Jielijian’s residence address in New York through a friend. Neighbors attempted to contact Jielijian at his home, but there was no response, leading to the involvement of law enforcement officials. Eventually, the landlord unlocked the door and found Jielijian lying unconscious in bed.

Later, Yang Maosen reported on the X platform that Jielijian’s condition was quite severe, and he had been promptly taken to the hospital by an ambulance. Updates on his medical condition, diagnosis, and further developments were to be based on medical reports.

In an interview with Dajiyuan, Yang Maosen recalled how the paramedics had transported Jielijian onto the ambulance. “When I saw him getting into the car, what he spat out seemed to be a reddish liquid,” he said.

On September 30, Yang Maosen released a statement on the X platform, indicating that Jielijian was now out of critical condition but required ongoing medical treatment, likely due to food poisoning.

Jielijian is a well-known overseas figure in the Chinese democratic movement who has continuously stood on the anti-Communist frontlines, supporting domestic dissidents, making him a thorn in the side of the Chinese Communist Party. He has previously faced multiple suspected violent attacks possibly orchestrated by the CCP, having been injured twice this year alone.

The underlying circumstances behind Jielijian’s recent health crisis remain unclear. Human rights organizations and concerned individuals continue to urge U.S. law enforcement agencies and the international community to prioritize his personal safety.
