GE Aviation to acquire precision casting manufacturer for 11.75 billion US dollars.

On September 8, 2026, the US General Electric Aerospace company (GE Aerospace) announced that it has reached an agreement with private equity firms Warburg Pincus and Berkshire Partners to acquire precision casting manufacturer Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) for approximately $11.75 billion. This is one of the largest acquisitions by GE Aerospace in recent years.

CPP, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, was founded in 1991 and specializes in producing high-precision castings and components for commercial aircraft, military aircraft, weapon systems, helicopters, and industrial gas turbines. The company has around 6,600 employees and over 20 production facilities worldwide. GE Aerospace has been a partner of CPP for over 15 years.

The acquisition is aimed at expanding key aerospace casting capacity to meet strong demand for commercial engines, aftermarket services, and defense operations. The company plans to leverage its technological capabilities and digital manufacturing platform FLIGHT DECK to improve production processes and quality control, accelerate the development and production of next-generation engine technology.

The total transaction price is $11.75 billion, with $7 billion to be paid in cash and the remainder through new debt financing. GE Aerospace expects the acquisition to increase adjusted earnings per share and free cash flow in the first year after completion.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2027, subject to regulatory approval and satisfaction of other customary closing conditions. GE Aerospace has an installed base of approximately 50,000 commercial aircraft engines and 30,000 military aircraft engines, with around 57,000 employees worldwide. The company is dedicated to research and innovation in aviation propulsion, services, and system technology, with operations in the commercial aviation and defense sectors.
