On Monday morning, August 31, according to local media reports, a bus carrying employees crashed into a concrete barrier at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, resulting in 13 injuries, including 3 serious ones.
The accident occurred around 3 a.m. at the third departure level of Terminal B, as reported by News 12 New Jersey.
The report stated that the accident left 3 people seriously injured and 10 others with minor injuries. It is currently believed that all the injured are out of life-threatening danger.
Video footage from News 12 New Jersey shows the severely damaged bus still pressed against the concrete barrier after the accident. The front end of the vehicle has been deformed, with the doors and windshield damaged.
Rescue personnel were on site providing treatment, and a warning tape was set up around the accident area. The injured have been taken to nearby hospitals for examinations and treatment.
Following the accident, authorities closed the passageway at the third departure level of Terminal B as rescue workers needed to clear the debris from the scene.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and authorities have not yet disclosed the reason behind the incident.
