Do vocalists need great lung capacity to reach high notes? The bel canto singing technique used by Shen Yun does not require the use of lung capacity at all. In fact, what exactly are high notes? The bel canto technique in Shen Yun does not even have the concept of high notes.
In this episode, soprano vocalist Tianli demonstrated the high note singing technique that most people are familiar with, once again breaking our understanding of high notes from childhood. She also shared the singing technique taught by Shen Yun’s artistic director D.F., which truly hits the resonance point – something that every vocalist strives for and studies throughout their lives, yet cannot quite grasp.
