In Hollywood, superstar Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been embroiled in a divorce battle for the past eight years. However, Hollywood producer Danny Rossner recently revealed that he has raised $60 million to invite the two to “reunite” on the big screen. In response, Pitt quickly stated, “It is not possible to lower oneself for money.”
According to a report from the Daily Mail on December 16, producer Danny Rossner hopes to bring Pitt and Jolie, the former warring spouses, to star in a romantic movie set during World War II, where they will portray lovers. The film is based on the true story of hotel owner Emmanuel Martinez.
Rossner mentioned that currently Pitt’s fee is about $20-25 million per film, while Jolie’s is about $15 million, and he is prepared to significantly increase these figures. This means that Pitt and Jolie’s fees would be raised to $37.5 million and $22 million, respectively.
However, sources close to the 60-year-old Pitt have stated that since 2016, Pitt has been in a divorce battle with the 49-year-old Jolie. “He cannot lower himself for money and work with someone who has caused him such great harm.”
Despite Rossner admitting that getting the two to co-star is not easy, he remains optimistic, saying, “If Israel and Lebanon can cease fire, then they can set aside their differences and cooperate.” He believes that if successful, not only would it generate global discussion, but it would also be a box office hit.
A friend of Pitt told the Daily Mail, “No amount of money in the world can make him (Pitt) work with Jolie again.” The friend indicated that their collaboration would undoubtedly generate worldwide attention and ensure box office success, “but this is not something Pitt would consider.”
An insider concluded, “She has caused him a lot of pain, to the point that he does not even want his inner circle to discuss her.”
Pitt and Jolie fell in love while filming “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2005, got engaged two years later, and married in August 2014. However, cracks appeared in their marriage shortly after.
In September 2016, Jolie filed for divorce after a heated argument with Pitt on a private plane. Since then, Pitt has distanced himself from Jolie and their six children, including their 18-year-old daughter Shiloh, 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, and their three adopted children Maddox (23), Pax (20), and Zahara (19).
Even though Pitt and Jolie legally declared themselves single in 2019, they remain entangled in an ongoing legal dispute, including issues related to custody of their children and ownership of a vineyard in France.
Sources also mentioned that producer Danny Rossner’s proposal was a “clever publicity stunt” and that “neither side would accept it.” They added, “There has never been any real offer made.”
