In response to the Chinese Communist Party Taiwan Affairs Office announcing punitive measures against the father of DPP legislator Shen Boyang, Shen Boyang stated today (October 14) that he has been wanted and sanctioned, and he is waiting to see what new developments will unfold.
The spokesperson for the Chinese Communist Party Taiwan Affairs Office, Chen Binhua, stated at a routine press conference today that punitive measures will be taken against VWAY, another company owned by Shen Boyang’s father, Shen Tucheng. This includes prohibiting any transactions or cooperation with organizations, enterprises, or individuals in mainland China. Previously in June 2025, the Taiwan Affairs Office sanctioned Zhaoyi Limited, a company where Shen Boyang’s father serves as the head.
A pro-China Hong Kong media outlet, “Wen Wei Po,” reported on the 13th that the father of legislator Shen Boyang’s company had secretly profited after being punished by China.
This morning, before his interview on the radio program “Zhao Shaokang Time,” Shen Boyang responded to media inquiries regarding the report by “Wen Wei Po” and the Taiwan Affairs Office’s press conference regarding punitive measures against his father’s other company.
Shen Boyang expressed that this Hong Kong media outlet is trying to discredit him, noting that these allegations have been circulating since two years ago and are being regurgitated now. He mentioned that his family has been doing business with Ecuador and has been portrayed as if they were Chinese businessmen. Despite these old rumors being reheated, the public can see through these tactics.
Regarding the statements made by the Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson, Shen Boyang stated that he has already been sanctioned by the Chinese Communist Party and is being sought after. He also mentioned that the CCP has even tasked people in Hong Kong to monitor him, indicating that much has already been done against him. Shen Boyang noted that he is eager to see what new moves will be made today.
On October 7th, Shen Boyang filed a report with the Da’an Branch of the Taipei City Police Department, stating that his residence was under surveillance. After investigation under the command of the Taipei District Prosecutors Office, the case was concluded. Taiwan private investigators, including Zheng Yongjin, received a commission of HK$99,950.09 (approximately NT$360,000) from Hong Kong individuals Ju Juexian and Lin Qing in 2024 to monitor DPP legislator Shen Boyang and his family 24/7.
The prosecutor emphasized that in recent years, there have been incidents in our country where individuals have been physically assaulted, digitally oppressed, or monitored around the clock due to expressing dissenting opinions about the Chinese Communist Party. These actions constitute cross-border repression against those who speak out. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office charged Zheng Yongjin and three others with violating personal information protection laws, seeking a sentence of 1 year and 6 months for Zheng Yongjin, while issuing warrants for the arrest of Ju Juexian and Lin Qing.
