Actress Sun Li reveals that her daughter once believed in online rumors and worried that her parents would divorce.

Sun Li, who has two children with Deng Chao, recently revealed on a talk show in mainland China that their daughter “Xiao Hua” had once felt sad and anxious because she mistakenly believed rumors circulating online that her parents were getting a divorce. Fortunately, through “positive communication”, Sun Li was able to resolve her daughter’s psychological crisis.

In a recent interview on the iQIYI talk show “A Kilometer Inside”, Sun Li was asked how she, as a celebrity, deals with various comments and speculations online regarding her appearance, acting skills, and personal life. Sun Li honestly admitted that she adopts an ostrich mentality, saying, “I don’t read them, there is almost no social media on my phone.” She explained that she believes she is not yet capable of “seeing it and not thinking about it”, so she chooses not to read those comments.

Sun Li went on to talk about how her daughter Xiao Hua was once influenced by online gossip. She shared that one day she received a call from her daughter’s school teacher, informing her that at the time, their 12-year-old daughter Xiao Hua was feeling extremely down at school. After some inquiry from the teacher, Xiao Hua revealed that her classmates had seen rumors online about Sun Li and Deng Chao getting a divorce and had questioned her about it, causing Xiao Hua to believe it was true, leading to extreme nervousness and unease. However, she was too afraid to directly ask her parents and kept it to herself.

Sun Li guided her daughter to observe the real situation in their daily life, telling Xiao Hua, “The four of us are having a meal together now, and dad and mom are at home every day, and we often travel together.” She hoped that her daughter would understand that not everything online is trustworthy and that instead of overthinking due to a few words from others, it’s better to observe the facts she sees with her own eyes.

After hearing Sun Li’s explanation, Xiao Hua quickly eased her worries and even asked, “Right, they don’t live in our house, how would they know what’s happening in our family?” Sun Li also promised her daughter that if she sees similar rumors in the future, she can ask her directly, and she will truthfully disclose the information, saying, “If it’s good, it’s good; if it’s not good, it’s not good.”

Sun Li stated that after that long conversation, Xiao Hua has now become completely immune to such baseless rumors online and has remained calm and composed.

Netizens praised Sun Li for her confidence and honesty in “laying out the real situation on the dinner table”, believing that this attitude not only didn’t scare the child but also instantly shattered the rumors in the most genuine way. The “positive communication” between Sun Li and her daughter not only resolved a family crisis but also serves as a textbook example of parenting.

Deng Chao and Sun Li met while filming the TV drama “Happiness Like Flowers” in 2005 and got married in 2010. They now have a 14-year-old son called “Deng Deng” and a 12-year-old daughter named “Xiao Hua”, making their family of four full of happiness and love.

In fact, the couple has become a representative of loving couples in the mainland Chinese entertainment industry, with their every move being closely watched. Sun Li, who is dubbed the “Queen of Mainland TV Dramas”, changed the self-identification on her Weibo account to not an actress after the birth of her daughter Xiao Hua, instead of listing her works like other celebrities. It now reads “1+1=4”, clearly prioritizing her family above all else.
