After coming out of Andrews Air Force Base, Xi Jinping did not meet with the pro-Communist groups welcoming him, instead choosing to take a side road and head straight to the Waldorf Hotel. It is worth noting that the entire hotel was surrounded by high walls and barbed wire, making it difficult to enter or exit. Xi Jinping seemed trapped inside, with special agents from the Chinese Communist Party’s Security Bureau holding Huawei phones and umbrellas while closely monitoring the protest crowds near the barbed wire fence, afraid of disturbing Xi’s sleep.
A Reuters journalist captured and published multiple photos, showing police guards patrolling by a fence in front of the Waldorf Hotel and capturing scenes of both supporters and protesters in action behind the barbed wire fence.
