Mysterious black smoke ring appears above Disneyland in California.

【Epoch Times, November 16, 2025】A woman in the United States captured a mysterious black smoke ring in the sky above Disneyland in California while driving. The footage has sparked various speculations online, with some guessing it to be an unidentified flying object (UFO). The amusement park has provided an explanation to clear up the truth.

According to a report from KTLA TV station, the witness named Lori Nayahalski captured the black smoke ring above Disneyland in Anaheim on November 13th at 6:30 a.m. while driving on Interstate 5.

Nayahalski sent the footage she captured to the TV station. She said, “It didn’t dissipate, and it didn’t look like a flock of birds. Is this the real-life version of the movie ‘The Matrix’ or some orchestrated prank? I don’t know, but it’s definitely something.”

Concerning this sighting of the black smoke ring, various bizarre theories have emerged online. Some jokingly suggested that the Disneyland executives were electing a “new mouse,” similar to how black smoke rises from the Sistine Chapel during the election of a new pope.

Others playfully remarked that this was due to an alien invasion at the park, stating, “Even aliens know where the happiest place on Earth is.”

However, this black smoke ring is not mysterious at all. Disneyland later confirmed that the black smoke ring was smoke generated by fireworks used in the park’s nighttime performances – a result of testing conducted before opening. Regular visitors to the park were already aware of this fact.

Before the park opens for the day, Disneyland conducts meticulous testing on its two major nighttime shows, including “World of Color” at Disney California Adventure Park and “Fantasmic!” at the main Disneyland park.

In addition to Disneyland, a black smoke ring also recently appeared in the sky of a town in Kansas, surprising local residents who described it as an “unseen phenomenon.”

As previously reported by Epoch Times, this rare event occurred in the outskirts of Bonner Springs on May 5th. Local resident Frankie Camren noticed a massive black ring suspended in the sky while riding a motorcycle. He stopped to observe and captured the scene, saying, “Can someone tell me what this thing really is?”
