The 2025 Crufts Dog Show came to a close last Sunday (March 9) at the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre in the UK, with over 18,000 top purebred dogs from around the world taking the stage to compete for the prestigious “Best in Show” award.

Crufts, which began in 1891, is held annually in March in the UK, spanning four days from Thursday to Sunday. It is the world’s oldest and largest dog show, organized by The Kennel Club of the UK. This year, more than 18,000 pedigree dogs participated in the event, including Poodles, Havaneses, Greyhounds, Dachshunds, Whippets, and Salukis, among others.

The competition is divided into seven major groups: Gundog, Hound, Pastoral, Terrier, Toy, Utility, and Working dogs. Winning the top prize at this prestigious event is considered the highest honor for both dogs and their handlers.

At this year’s competition, Miuccia, a 4-year-old Whippet from Venice, Italy, first won the individual breed championship, followed by the Hound group championship, and ultimately clinched the coveted “Best in Show” title, making her the first Italian dog to achieve this honor. The runner-up was Viking, a Tibetan Mastiff from Romania.
