“I am Celine Dion”: Documenting her peak performances and illness.

Amazon’s Megumi Studios released the latest documentary “I Am: Céline Dion” today, offering fans an in-depth look at how the legendary singer has been battling Stiff-Person Syndrome (SPS) in her life.

The trailer for “I Am: Céline Dion” gives a glimpse into her behind-the-scenes during the peak of her music career and how she has faced the rare neurological disorder, Stiff-Person Syndrome. It includes footage of her early days in the recording studio and on stage, showcasing her love for music and the unwavering passion that drives her to continue performing on stage.

In the trailer for “I Am: Céline Dion,” she talks about the impact of Stiff-Person Syndrome on her, telling the audience, “My voice is the guide of my life, I need my instrument.” “I was diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder. I wasn’t ready to say anything before, but now I am prepared,” she says.

Dion says, “It’s not hard to perform, you know? Cancelling a performance is hard.” She admits that it’s a struggle and she works hard every day. She misses performing and her fans, saying, “I miss it so much, I miss the people here. If I can’t run, I’ll walk; if I can’t walk, I’ll crawl. I won’t stop, I won’t quit.”

On the 23rd, Dion revealed to Vogue that back in 2008 during her Taking Chances World Tour THE CONCERT, she felt something was off. Dion recalls, “Soon, I couldn’t control my voice, it would get very high and then spasm. As a singer, what would you do first? Go see an otolaryngologist.”

She continued her tour, completed the world tour, performed in Las Vegas, and went on five more tours despite experiencing muscle stiffness. She said, “I started having trouble walking, but I kept pushing through.” After a more intensive round of tests and a long medical process, Dion was diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome, a condition that causes muscle stiffness and spasms.

Despite the challenges posed by the rare neurological disorder, Dion continues to pursue what she loves.

The documentary “I Am: Céline Dion” will premiere on Prime Video on June 25th.
