At least 3 people trapped in coal mine accident in Shaanxi, 5 people rescued.

On September 25th, a roof collapse accident occurred at the Yulao’ershi Coal Mine in Zhenping County, Shaanxi Province, trapping multiple people.

Around 10 p.m. that night, an official from the Yulao’ershi Coal Mine told Vision News that the roof collapse happened on the afternoon of the 25th. At the time of the incident, there were 8 workers on the site, with 5 of them quickly escaping. As of 10 p.m. on the 25th, 3 people were still trapped at the scene.

A coal mine roof collapse accident refers to unexpected situations such as collapse, subsidence, or instability of the coal seam roof during the mining process, resulting in casualties and equipment damage.

The official revealed that prior to the incident, the mine was in the process of rectification, and these 8 workers were sent to the site for maintenance work as part of the ongoing rectification efforts that had been going on for a long time, requiring inspection and maintenance.

The on-duty staff at the Zhenping County government office stated that the rescue operation is currently underway, and further investigation is needed to determine the specific cause of the accident.

Public information reveals that the Yulao’ershi Coal Mine was established in 1998, located in Yulao’ershiwan, Hualong Village, Shangzhu Town, Zhenping County, mainly engaged in coal mining and beneficiation.
