People on the Scene: This Awakening is Exactly What the World Needs

Americans from all walks of life gathered at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday, September 21st for a memorial event organized by Turning Point USA, a conservative organization founded by Charlie Kirk. Among the attendees was Heidi Lee, a political activist, who described the event as a moment of awakening for believers and a spiritual revival.

Heidi, accompanied by her son Jonathan Lee, shared her dedication to homeschooling her children in alignment with her Christian and conservative values, and her long-standing support for Turning Point USA. She proudly introduced her 12-year-old son Jonathan, who has been inspired by Kirk to delve deep into studying the U.S. Constitution.

“We read together, we take quizzes together,” Heidi said. “Jonathan took a test on the amendments and scored a 90!” Jonathan then proudly showed off a hat given to him by Kirk, declaring it as his favorite hat and emphasizing the importance of free speech as a fundamental constitutional right.

Heidi’s reason for attending the memorial event was to instill in her children an understanding of the ideals of America’s founding fathers and the rights of citizens. She emphasized the importance of preserving traditional values in the face of current societal conflicts and divisions.

An emotional sharing from a Romanian immigrant family with a background in a former communist country during the event deeply moved Heidi. The family recounted their past experience of waiting in long lines for basic necessities like bread, highlighting the preciousness of freedom in America. This experience made Heidi realize the value of American freedom and the importance of upholding the foundation of the Constitution to prevent the nation from straying down a path that threatens those freedoms.

Heidi believes that the recent assassination attempt on Kirk has triggered a spiritual awakening, leading people to seek a closer relationship with God. She stated, “We must truly walk the path that God has prepared for us, which we have been lacking in the past. I believe this awakening is what the world urgently needs, calling believers to action.”

Critiquing those in today’s society who seek freedom in the wrong places, Heidi emphasized that true freedom and hope come from having faith in God. She called for a revival of values within families, emphasizing the importance of preserving the sanctity and importance of family as a divine gift, as taught by Kirk.

Reflecting on her past silence as a Christian and conservative, Heidi expressed her resolution to boldly share her faith and beliefs, likening herself to a lion in her conviction. She stressed the need for courage in spreading faith in the face of attempts to silence and defame believers. Heidi pointed out that Kirk’s assassination revealed a moral crisis in America, underscoring the nation’s dire need for God in times when some celebrate tragedy.

Heidi’s impassioned words conveyed a deep sense of urgency for a return to traditional values and faith as she highlighted the interconnectedness of God, family, and country in shaping individual beliefs and societal harmony.
