On July 18, it was officially reported that Liu Hui, the Deputy Director of the Education, Science, Health and Sports Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), is under investigation. Liu Hui, a high-ranking official of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), has been investigated during her tenure.
Liu Hui, a member of the Hui ethnic group, was born in Tianjin in December 1959. She started working in June 1977 and joined the CCP in December 1985. She holds a graduate degree from the Central Party School.
Liu Hui has held various positions in the government in Ningxia for a long time. She has served as Deputy Secretary of the Wuzhong City Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Civil Affairs Department of Ningxia, Vice Chairman of the Government of Ningxia, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Government of Ningxia, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Government of Ningxia.

Liu Hui is also a candidate member of the 17th and 18th Central Committees of the CCP.
This investigation into Liu Hui, a prominent figure within the CCP’s hierarchy, has sparked discussions and speculation about the motives behind the probe and its potential implications for the political landscape in China. The news of an official at her level being investigated indicates the ongoing anti-corruption campaign within the CCP, which has seen several high-ranking officials being taken down in recent years.
