Recently, a disgusting incident occurred at a wonton shop in Pujiang Town, Minhang District, Shanghai, where a woman in professional attire intentionally wiped her runny nose with tissues and repeatedly threw them into a jar of chili oil, even using a spoon to press them down before leaving as if nothing had happened. The related video circulating online has caused shock and outrage among netizens, who have expressed that their values have been completely destroyed.
The video shows that on the afternoon of April 29th, a woman in professional attire entered a restaurant in Minhang District to place an order. She sat down inside the shop, wearing a bracelet on her left hand and a watch on her right hand. During her meal, she began to blow her nose, throwing the used tissues all over the table. She then wiped her nose again and threw the tissue into the jar of chili oil. She grabbed a few more tissues and continued to throw them into the chili oil along with the used ones, even using a spoon to press them down. Afterwards, she casually walked away as if nothing had occurred.

According to a report by the Yangtze Evening News, on May 1st, the duty office of the People’s Government of Pujiang Town, Minhang District, Shanghai, was contacted. Staff members responded that on the day of the incident, the town government received feedback from residents, and the local police station, town government officials, and market supervision department have been following up on the matter.
A community police officer from the police station in the area where the incident occurred responded that they are aware of the situation, and the shop involved has explained the circumstances at the police station. It is yet to be determined if the woman from the video can be identified.
The woman’s behavior has sparked a flurry of discussions among netizens, with some suggesting that aside from mental illness, there seems to be no better explanation for her actions.
