Christmas is a season of warm gatherings, and in the Hudson Valley region of upstate New York, a traditional event that has been ongoing for over 50 years is quietly unfolding – “Christmas on the Farm with Eggbert.” This holiday event kicked off at Devitt’s Farm in Orange County on December 13 and will continue until December 24, allowing each participating family to enjoy fun with their children and experience the rich Christmas atmosphere.
During the Christmas season, the dazzling window displays of department stores in New York City and the spectacular lights in Brooklyn’s Dyker Heights always attract attention, but the Hudson Valley region of upstate New York has its own unique Christmas traditions. Since 1971, local families have been bringing their children to Devitt’s Farm to participate in this distinctive Christmas activity, spending joyful time with Eggbert and enjoying the unique holiday atmosphere.
The event takes place at Devitt’s Farm (Devitt’s Nursery & Supply) in Orange County, upstate New York. Upon arrival at the farm, staff members will help children write their names and guide them through five different unique exhibits, including a petting zoo, ice cave, nativity scene, face painting, mini train ride, Santa’s workshop, magic mailbox, and the egg with a crown, Eggbert.
Furthermore, children can send letters to Santa at the magic mailbox exhibit, and finally, meet Eggbert and his friend Eggclair to create lasting holiday memories.
