TV Celebrity Seeks Police Help: Son Suffers Mental Confusion After Drug Abuse

Jeff Brazier revealed that he had called the police in an attempt to help his 22-year-old son, Freddy, overcome his drug addiction.

The 47-year-old TV presenter shared that Freddy would enter a “psychotic state” after taking drugs, often leading Jeff to go out searching for his son. Jeff, who shares Freddy and 23-year-old son Bobby with reality TV star Jade Goody, who passed away from cervical cancer in 2009.

In an episode of Matt Willis’s podcast “On The Mend,” Jeff expressed his helplessness in trying to steer Freddy away from his addiction. Despite efforts to intervene and seek assistance from law enforcement, Jeff felt powerless in making Freddy break free from his drug dependency.

Over the past six years, dealing with Freddy’s erratic behavior post-drug use has been the most challenging aspect for Jeff. He described how Freddy would wander the streets in a state unlike his usual self, leaving Jeff worried about his well-being.

Despite Freddy undergoing drug rehabilitation and even facing compulsory treatment, Jeff acknowledged that these efforts were insufficient in altering his son’s behavior. He now relies on Freddy’s personal growth and understanding of his issues to pave the way for recovery.

Jeff shared his various attempts to aid Freddy and maintain composure while encouraging him to explore different paths towards healing. However, it appears that Freddy is not fully prepared yet. Jeff emphasized that ultimately, it is Freddy’s decision to make when he is ready to emerge from this struggle.

In 2024, Jeff and Freddy appeared on the reality show “Celebrity Race Across The World.” During filming in Brazil, Freddy admitted on the “Terry Stone Connection” podcast to using the show’s budget to purchase marijuana.

Willis recalled Freddy mentioning his father during the show, expressing how Jeff’s efforts to distance himself sometimes drove Freddy to pull closer. Jeff praised Freddy’s intelligence and willingness to address his issues, despite struggling to maintain control over his actions.

Jeff acknowledged Freddy’s occasional defensive demeanor when avoiding accountability, causing frustration for Jeff as Freddy faces the consequences of his decisions.

Despite the obstacles, Jeff vowed to continuously support Freddy, believing that Jade would have insisted on the same. Jeff strives to be a nurturing father to both his sons, offering them a sense of paternal care they may have missed growing up.

Freddy’s representative confirmed that he is currently in good condition, focusing on his well-being and striving towards a positive direction.

Like many young people, Freddy has faced challenges but remains optimistic about the future with a support system in place.

Reports suggest that Freddy started smoking at around 12 years old, encountered mental health struggles over the years, underwent drug rehabilitation, and experienced manic episodes.
