6 dead and 5 injured in 2 traffic accidents in 2 days in Yongzhou, Hunan

On April 6, a traffic accident occurred in the Lingling District of Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, causing the death of 3 people and injuring 3 others. Just the day before, another vehicle rollover accident in the Lengshuitan District of Yongzhou City resulted in 3 deaths and 2 injuries.

According to a report by the Chinese state media Xinhua News Agency, at around 12:30 on April 6, a traffic accident happened on the 322 National Highway in the direction of Luqiao Street in the Lingling District of Yongzhou City towards Qiyang. A heavy-duty semi-trailer collided with a small car. Preliminary information indicates that the accident has led to 3 deaths and 3 injuries. Further details are currently under investigation.

On the same day, the Emergency Management Bureau of Lengshuitan District in Yongzhou City reported that around 10 o’clock on April 5, an accident occurred on a dirt road at the halfway point of a mountain near Yanmenkou in Baofang Village of Yangcundi Township in Lengshuitan District, resulting in a vehicle rollover. Two individuals at the scene died, while 3 others were injured and sent to the hospital for treatment. At 16:50 on the same day, one of the injured individuals passed away despite rescue efforts, while the other 2 injured persons had stable vital signs.

On April 5, a resident of Yangcundi Township told “Extreme News” that a man and his family’s vehicle overturned while they were paying respects at a grave. Local residents also mentioned that the accident occurred on a mountain road, which is steep and muddy.

A reporter from the media outlet contacted relevant authorities in Yongzhou City. The staff member who answered the call stated that the accident resulted in 3 deaths and 2 injuries, with one injured individual sustaining head injuries and another with leg injuries, both of whom are in stable condition. The staff member mentioned that the accident involved a small sedan and said, “Preliminary understanding is that the vehicle overturned unexpectedly while heading up the mountain to pay respects at a grave.”
