Expert: New US Actions may Push Iranian Regime into Most Feared Situation

The latest “Economic Isolation Action” initiated by the U.S. Department of the Treasury is an unprecedented measure aimed at cutting off the last remaining economic lifelines supporting Iran. Experts suggest that this action could push the Iranian people’s anger towards the regime to a boiling point, putting the Tehran regime in its “most feared” position.

The U.S. Treasury Department has dubbed its latest economic pressure strategy as “Economic D-Day.” Treasury Secretary Benson stated, “We will implement a ‘zero loopholes policy.’ The Iranian regime will have no breathing room to rebuild its capabilities that pose a threat to the United States and the world.”

Benson also mentioned that countries tied to the Iranian regime should prepare to face isolation along with this increasingly deteriorating regime.

Kasra Aarabi, Director of the Iran Revolutionary Guards Research Department at the non-profit organization UANI, stated in an interview with Fox Business News that the anger among the Iranian people is escalating and nearing the breaking point.

“These economic measures, further tightening the economic noose, could escalate the situation to a boiling point,” Aarabi said. He added, “This regime definitely wants to avoid a scenario where the people launch protests against it while the U.S. has military assets deployed in the region. What it fears – what it most fears – is protests with air cover.”

Aarabi highlighted that prior to the U.S. launching the “Economic Isolation Action,” the American military’s blockade of Iranian ports had already inflicted “severe economic damage” on the Iranian regime.

“The blockade – implemented by the U.S. – is working. Their (Iran’s) oil exports have nearly dropped to zero, basically zero… This first and foremost affects their ability to fund their military for the regime,” Aarabi said. “Senior officials of the Islamic Republic have clearly stated that any funds that come into their hands will be used for the military. The military is the top priority. Therefore, further tightening the economic noose is exactly what the U.S. should be doing, and this regime is panicking.”

“I have learned from sources inside Iran that they were already urgently seeking solutions prior to the ‘Economic D-Day,'” he added. “Given that the southern corridor – the Persian Gulf – is completely unusable for exporting oil and transporting other critical goods, they are eager to find alternative routes.”

Jason Brodsky, Policy Director of UANI, told Fox Business News, “The ‘Economic Isolation Action’ is another form of the years-long ‘maximum pressure’ campaign.”

“This situation is unprecedented because the U.S. is currently synchronizing economic and military power and imposing an unprecedented economic blockade on the Iranian regime,” he said. “All of this will exacerbate the severe financial difficulties facing the Iranian regime.”

Brodsky added, “Undoubtedly, the Treasury Department’s ‘Economic Isolation Action’ will deprive the Iranian regime of resources to sponsor its regional terrorist proxies – Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthi militia, and Iraqi Shia militias. If the Iranian regime is unable to incite and fund its terrorist organizations, then this action can effectively save lives. Thus, fundamentally and effectively implementing the ‘Economic Isolation Action’ aligns with U.S. national security interests.”

He noted that Iran has been attacking ships for years, even before the U.S. launched the “Operation Epic Fury” against Iran.

“Iran has been attempting to disrupt commercial shipping in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s disruptive activities are longstanding. Ultimately, to make the Iranian government change its behavior, there must be regime change in Iran. Unfortunately, this is the reality we are currently facing,” he stated.

According to a report from “Iran International,” based in the UK, insiders have revealed that Iran’s strategic fuel reserves have reached a “red alert” level of consumption, with remaining stocks possibly depleting within weeks.
