Facing the massive fire in Los Angeles, the World Chinese Business Women’s Association Greater Los Angeles Chapter (Greater Los Angeles World Chinese Association) showed their compassion by providing hot dinners for both the victims and rescue workers, warming every affected heart.
Starting from January 14th, for three consecutive days, the compassionate team led by President Liu Huanjun of the Greater Los Angeles World Chinese Association, along with Vice President Xue Lihua (from Pinke Duo Restaurant), Honorary Advisor Pan Yiling, and Legal Advisor Lawyer Fang Xiaoshi (from WaBa Grill), Director Lin Meijun (from Farmer Boys), and other dedicated entrepreneurs, donated 120 carefully prepared hot meal boxes from their own restaurants. These meals were personally delivered by the association’s chairman Xu Guangling, former president Lin Huiyi, and several directors and members to the Los Angeles County police officers and the victims at the Santa Anita Emergency Center in Arcadia.
Volunteers at the disaster relief center mentioned that despite an adequate supply of goods, victims rarely had the opportunity to enjoy hot dinners. The Greater Los Angeles World Chinese Association hopes that through this initiative, the victims can have a delicious meal amidst their hardships and feel the warmth of society. As the hot meal boxes reached the hands of the victims, grateful smiles appeared on their faces, thanking repeatedly and creating a heartwarming and touching scene.
The Los Angeles County police officers also expressed their gratitude for this act of kindness. They mentioned that it’s difficult for them to take a break and have a meal during the busy rescue operations, making these meal boxes the essential support they needed. The Southern California Chapter of the World Chinese Association hopes that this act of kindness will inspire more people to participate and allow the victims to feel warmth and care during the harsh winter, jointly overcoming this challenge. ◇
