**Actress Selma Blair Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting Flight Attendants**
Law enforcement officers confirmed on Monday (October 12) that American actress Selma Blair attempted to open the aircraft cabin door and assaulted flight attendants on a Delta Airlines flight on Sunday. After the plane arrived in New York, she was arrested and taken to a hospital for evaluation.
According to a report by TMZ, a US tabloid focused on entertainment news under the Fox corporation, Blair, known for her role in “Cruel Intentions”, boarded a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York on Sunday. It was reported that during the flight, she tried to open the aircraft cabin door. When two flight attendants tried to stop her, she physically assaulted one and bit another.
Based on audio recordings obtained by the media, Delta Airlines requested airport authorities to arrange medical personnel at the boarding gate to address the injuries sustained by the crew upon landing, including bite marks and a nosebleed.
Delta Airlines staff mentioned in the recording that a passenger who was behaving erratically had hit their head on the cabin door area.
Officials from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed the incident to Fox News on Monday. In a statement, the agency mentioned that around 11 pm on Sunday, they responded to a distress call. Delta Airlines Flight 938 landed at Kennedy Airport and was parked at the gate awaiting law enforcement response.
The Port Authority statement indicated, “The suspect has been identified as Selma Blair, a 54-year-old female. She has been detained and taken to the hospital for evaluation.”
Law enforcement officials confirmed that Blair has been served a subpoena by the FBI and is currently facing assault charges. The court date is yet to be determined.
In a statement to Fox News, Blair’s representatives mentioned, “Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the behavior she is accused of. She received immediate medical care upon landing, and her condition is currently stable.”
Port Authority officials confirmed that two flight attendants were also injured, with one of them being taken to the hospital for further examination.
Blair was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018. According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, this condition affects the central nervous system of individuals, with varying impacts such as memory difficulties, mobility issues, emotional changes, and vision impairment.
