In 2018, a scientist from the Chinese Communist military sent a sample of the COVID virus to a laboratory in Minnesota, more than a year before the COVID pandemic broke out in China.
According to a recently disclosed document from the United States Senate Committee, a well-known Chinese military scientist, Zhou Yusen, secretly shipped a coronavirus sample to a laboratory in Minnesota through a courier in November 2018. This highlights the secretive research being conducted by the Chinese military on the COVID virus.
Zhou Yusen previously served as the director of the Pathogen Molecular Biology Laboratory at the Academy of Military Medical Sciences in China, as well as the director of the Pathogenic Microbiology Professional Laboratory at the National Key Laboratory of Pathogen Biology.
The declassified document is from the Department of Homeland Security.
In November 2018, customs officials at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport found three sample bottles wrapped in tissues and sealed with wax in the courier’s carry-on baggage. The courier identified Zhou Yusen as the sender, with the recipient being Dr. Fang Li, a professor in the Pharmacology Department at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
Subsequently, these vials were handed over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate.
Forensic scientists at the FBI later confirmed that the vials contained “precursor mRNA and partial spike protein of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus”. The report indicated that porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) is a type of COVID virus that causes high morbidity and mortality rates in pig populations.
The report also noted that prior to his mysterious death in 2020, Zhou Yusen had close collaborations with Shi Zhengli from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Shi Zhengli, known as the “Bat Woman” among peers, has long studied bat viruses.
Dr. Fang Li is an international authority in the field of coronavirus cell invasion mechanisms and structural biology.
The report mentioned that Dr. Li’s research funding comes from grants provided by the National Institutes of Health in the United States.
A redacted US government investigative report dated June 15, 2020, stated, “Some researchers collaborating with Dr. Li have ties to the Chinese military and the ‘Thousand Talents Program’, placing them on the radar for future recruitment.”
The report further noted, “Particular attention is warranted for foreign nationals connecting with suspicious Chinese entities, potentially posing a threat to US national security.”
The “Thousand Talents Program” is a massive Chinese recruitment initiative aimed at hiring scientists to work in China and providing compensation.
Dr. Li Fang has yet to respond to requests for comment from The Washington Times.
In May 2020, 54-year-old Zhou Yusen fell to his death from a building in Beijing, with the cause of death still not independently confirmed.
In a Senate report submitted by Senator Marco Rubio in 2023, it was pointed out that Zhou Yusen had close collaborations with Shi Zhengli and together published an academic report in 2019 on the joint “gain-of-function” research conducted by the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and the Chinese military.
According to investigative journalist Sharri Markson in 2021, Zhou Yusen applied for a patent for a COVID virus vaccine on behalf of the “Military Medicine Research Institute of the Academy of Military Sciences” in February 2020, earlier than the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a pandemic. However, Zhou Yusen died in May 2020, three months after applying for the patent.
It is widely believed that the COVID virus outbreak occurred in Wuhan in 2019, but it was not until January 20, 2020, that the Chinese authorities acknowledged it, followed by the city of Wuhan being locked down on January 23. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the pandemic on March 11 of the same year.
Therefore, the speed at which Zhou Yusen developed the COVID vaccine cannot be explained by conventional means unless he knew in advance that the COVID pandemic would occur.
Professor Nikolai Petrovsky from Flinders University stated that the rapid development of the vaccine by scientists was “unprecedented,” leading to suspicions that this work may have started much earlier.
In the book “The Truth of Wuhan,” it is mentioned that Zhou Yusen had research backgrounds in both the United States and China, conducting post-doctoral research at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and collaborating with the New York Blood Center.
Markson commented on the suspicious timing and cause of Zhou Yusen’s death, with no prior abnormal symptoms before his passing. It is questionable why this highly respected scientist by the Chinese military was only known to the public two months after his death and why the Chinese authorities remained silent about his demise.
