15-year-old girl stops breathing, “dies and comes back to life” 8 hours after being placed in coffin

Guatemala witnessed a bizarre “death and resurrection” event involving a 15-year-old girl named Yuleidy Ixcotoyac. Yuleidy experienced a sudden cardiac arrest that led to her being pronounced dead, only to miraculously come back to life after being placed in a coffin for 8 hours, leaving her family both shocked and overjoyed. She expressed her gratitude to God for saving her life.

According to a report from the UK’s Daily Star, the incident occurred on October 10th in the village of El Jocote in Quiché province, where Yuleidy Ixcotoyac resides.

On that fateful morning, Yuleidy suddenly felt unwell, prompting her father to rush her to the hospital for emergency care. However, she lost consciousness on the way. When her father stopped the car to check on her, he found that she had no pulse or breath, leading him to conclude that she had passed away.

Without a medical examination or death certificate, Yuleidy was taken back home and placed in a coffin. Her family prepared for her funeral, with relatives and friends offering their condolences.

Around 2:30 pm that afternoon, Yuleidy’s mother, Lesvia Rios, tearfully bent over the coffin and noticed some movement inside. To everyone’s surprise, Yuleidy opened her eyes and sat up in the coffin.

A video circulating online shows Yuleidy’s family assisting her, giving her water to drink, while a group of relatives surrounded the coffin in disbelief.

Lesvia told local media, “I kept saying she’s still alive, she didn’t die.”

Yuleidy later recounted her experience before losing consciousness, describing severe chest pain and a feeling of heaviness before blacking out.

She said, “I cannot express enough gratitude for everything God has done in my life. This is a miracle.”

Her father added that she had already stopped breathing before he could rush her to the hospital. He said, “I found she had no breath, and I couldn’t feel a pulse in her wrist. It was a very difficult moment for me.”

Yuleidy is currently recovering at home, mentioning that her hands are still trembling. The Guatemalan health department has not released any medical diagnosis regarding this incident.

Similar “death and resurrection” incidents have been reported in Ecuador in the past.

This event serves as a testament to the unpredictable nature of life and the hope that miracles can and do happen, bringing solace and wonder to those who witness them.
