In the latest round of Quebec’s program for selecting skilled workers (PSTQ), a total of 523 candidates have been invited to submit immigration applications, with the majority being workers with intermediate and low-level skills.
PSTQ is a key economic immigration pathway in Quebec. Foreign individuals interested in applying need to first submit a statement of interest and personal information on the Arrima website. Following this, the system will score the candidates according to set criteria, with the government only inviting those who exceed the minimum threshold to submit immigration applications.
On July 27, 2026, among the group of foreign individuals selected from the Arrima system to submit applications, there were 105 candidates falling under Category One (high skilled and specialized candidates). They belong to TEER 0-2 occupations, including biologists and related scientists, early childhood educators and assistants, as well as teachers for individuals with disabilities, among others. All of these individuals currently reside in Quebec and have at least 12 months of work experience in the past 5 years.
For Category Two candidates, consisting of intermediate and manual skill workers, a total of 296 invitations were issued in this round. They fall under TEER 3-5 occupations and currently reside in Quebec.
The third category pertains to regulated professions, with 110 invitations issued in this round. These individuals, who are currently residing in Quebec, hold professions such as audiologists and speech-language pathologists, cardiovascular technicians and electrophysiology diagnostic technicians, as well as clinical and laboratory medical specialists, among others.
The fourth category comprises outstanding talents who must have at least 36 months of work experience in the past 5 years. Only 12 invitations were extended in this category in the current round.
