On July 30th, Cecilia Cheung attended the new film kick-off ceremony in Hong Kong. When responding to compliments from the public about her two daughters, Zhang Chuer and Zhang Xin, becoming more and more beautiful as they grow up, she smiled and said that although her daughters are exceptionally good-looking, at this stage they are focusing on their studies, and whether they will enter the entertainment industry in the future depends on their own abilities.
Cecilia Cheung and Mainland martial arts star Nicholas Tse met during the filming of the TV series “Water Moon Cave” and got married in 2008. They now have three children: eldest daughter Zhang Chuer (“Baozi”), youngest daughter Zhang Xin (“Dumpling”), and 6-year-old son Zhang Ler (“Fishball”), leading a happy and contented family of five.
Not long ago, the family took a family portrait to celebrate their son’s birthday. Both daughters, each with long legs, confidently posed in front of the camera, exuding a star-like quality. With their slightly curly long hair and delicate features, internet users praised them as “the future ‘beauty queens’ surpassing their mother’s beauty.”
Now, the 15-year-old eldest daughter Zhang Chuer has already surpassed her father Nicholas Tse in height, approaching 180 cm; the 13-year-old second daughter Zhang Xin is also close to 170 cm, and when the two sisters stand together, they have tall and slender model-like figures. Internet users describe them as “growing rapidly,” believing they have the potential to participate in beauty pageants.
During the event on July 30th, Cecilia Cheung jokingly mentioned that although her daughters are strikingly beautiful, she currently has no intention of letting them participate in beauty pageants, as their focus should be on their studies at the moment.
She revealed that she and Nicholas Tse have an open attitude towards their children’s future. She said that if their children have a strong interest in performing, they will not object; but if they are not interested, they will not be forced, and as parents, their duty is to be supportive spectators. The couple has also set a rule that their daughters must rely on themselves for whatever they do in the future, without depending on their parents’ connections or fame to find jobs.
Cecilia Cheung further disclosed that she has clearly set a rule for her daughters that they cannot date before they turn 18. She expressed relief, saying that because of their harmonious mother-daughter relationship, if her daughters have crushes or are being pursued, they will proactively share with her.
In the upcoming film “The Avenger,” Cecilia Cheung plays a wealthy and powerful, controlling and dominant mother figure. The film is directed by Joe Ma and co-stars Ekin Cheng, Jacky Cheung, and others. This also marks Cecilia Cheung’s collaboration with Ekin Cheng again after 31 years since they starred in the movie “Shan Shui You Xiang Feng.”
