Taiwan Excellent UAV Overseas Business Opportunities Alliance announced today that it attended the “Farnborough Airshow,” one of the world’s three major airshows in the UK, from the 20th to the 26th of this month. On the 23rd, it signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Aerospace, Defence, and Security Industry Association of the United Kingdom. The bilateral UAV industries of Taiwan and the UK have formally initiated exchanges for the first time, establishing an industry exchange platform in UAV research and marketing, and participating in international business expansion plans.
According to the press release issued by the Taiwan Excellent UAV Overseas Business Opportunities Alliance (TEDIBOA), Taiwan and the UK signed the memorandum of cooperation. The signing ceremony was conducted by Zhuang Xiumei, General Manager of Hanxin Corporation, representing the alliance, and Kevin Craven, CEO of the Aerospace, Defence, and Security Industry Association (ADS Group) of the UK, witnessed by Ambassador Yao Jinxiang of the Republic of China in the UK and Julie Marionneau, Director of International Affairs of ADS.
Under the agreement, Taiwan and the UK will establish an industry exchange platform in UAV research and marketing, participate in each other’s international business expansion plans, and further explore other cooperation possibilities. The core purpose is to promote substantial cooperation and bilateral investment, comprehensively enhance Taiwan and the UK’s UAV technology and global competitiveness. Following the completion of the ceremony, bilateral business negotiations commenced promptly, laying the groundwork for multinational business opportunities.
Chairman of the alliance, Cao Jinping, specially delegated Zhuang Xiumei, General Manager of Hanxin Corporation, to attend and led the Aerospace Industry Association and several alliance companies to participate in the event. Zhuang Xiumei said in her speech, “It is a great honor to represent Chairman Cao and all members to secure cooperation opportunities. We are confident that Taiwan can become the safest, most reliable, and most manufacturing-energetic strategic partner of the aerospace and defense industries in the Asia-Pacific region for the UK.”
Kevin Craven, CEO of the ADS Group, also highly praised this cooperation. He emphasized that through the establishment of this exchange platform, the advantages of both parties in technology research and manufacturing will be fully utilized, enabling the continuous growth of the UAV industry. The alliance stated that the Aerospace, Defence, and Security Industry Association is one of the most representative national industry associations in the UK, with over 2,000 members covering aerospace, defense, security, and space fields. Its aim is to collaborate with industries to strengthen the UK’s competitive advantages, enhance the UK’s international status as an innovation center, and achieve the highest goal of sustainable development. At the same time, Farnborough International, a subsidiary of ADS, is also the organizer of the Farnborough Airshow.
Guided by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Taiwan Excellent UAV Overseas Business Opportunities Alliance is jointly promoted by the Metal Industries Research & Development Center and Hanxin Corporation. Currently, Cao Jinping, Chairman of Hanxin, serves as the chairman of the alliance, and the Metal Center is responsible for the operation of the alliance promotion platform, including administrative operations, member services, international cooperation promotion, overseas market expansion, industry exchange matching, and inter-departmental coordination, integrating domestic UAV industry resources to assist the alliance in deepening international cooperation, expanding overseas business opportunities, and continuing to build a reliable UAV supply chain in Taiwan.
Since its establishment, the alliance has always been committed to building a trustworthy supply chain system, carrying out the clear goal of “focusing on industry cooperation and looking to the global market.” Currently, the alliance has forged alliances with UAV organizations from nine countries in Europe, the Americas, and Asia, totaling 15. In the first half of this year, it has intensified visits to Germany, the United States, Japan, and other countries and conducted negotiations with local industry organizations, demonstrating a strong intention to expand global business opportunities.
