【Epoch Times News, October 20, 2025】On October 19, Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and son of former President Trump, visited the Nixon Library to sign copies of his new book “Under Siege: My Family’s Fight to Save Our Nation.” The book, which was released on Amazon on October 14, has already received a five-star rating.
Christopher Nixon Cox, grandson of President Nixon and CEO of the private equity fund Lightswitch Capital, hosted the event. Cox mentioned that his family’s connection with the Trumps dates back to his mother purchasing a property from the Trump organization when his grandparents were moving from California to New York.
At 41 years old, Eric expressed that he will never forget the lessons his father taught him after the battles they faced together. He highlighted how the Trump family had ventures in hotels, golf courses, and television shows until politics entered the scene. During the 2016 election, he spoke with his father daily, and when they descended the escalator at Trump Tower for the first time, he saw the beginning of the siege. Trump said, “They will attack us in ways we can’t imagine, but we will also recognize true friends.”
From Trump’s election in 2016 to his re-election in 2024, the President and his family encountered numerous attacks and persecutions. Eric mentioned that their opponents tried to kill him, imprison him, bankrupt the family, strip them of their voice, impose gag orders, erase Trump’s name from buildings worldwide, and ruin their marriages and families.
“I appeared in every lawsuit, becoming the most summoned person in American history even though I did nothing wrong. Subpoenas from Congresswoman Elizabeth Warren totaled 112, but we overturned all lawsuits,” Eric stated. Their opponents aimed to waste Trump’s time and money to hinder his campaign.
Ever heard of a “secret server”? Eric mentioned that their opponents fabricated a “Russian outpost,” claiming there was a secret server in the basement of Trump Tower that could communicate with the Kremlin. The IRS leaked all of his father’s tax returns to publications like The New York Times. Their opponents attempted to assassinate his father a second time, “and then everyone saw the murder of ‘Turning Point’ founder Charlie Kirk.”
“This is a siege battle for all of us,” Eric said, due to his father’s refusal to back down. In the 2024 election, Trump won the popular vote, winning every swing state. Trump flipped 11 counties in California and won 33 out of 58 counties, “enduring like no other, I am extremely proud of my father, proud of our long friendship, the position we are in today, and the victories we are winning.”
Trump self-funded his campaign, while Hillary’s campaign funds were five times larger. Eric recalled the day Trump won the 2016 election on November 8, “My phone went crazy, I had never received so many messages.” In the 2020 election, “No one believed Joe Biden could win by over 16 million votes, surpassing Barack Obama; and we (Trump) received around 12 million more votes than in 2016, but still lost the election.”
“That night, we sat in the White House, from midnight to dawn, experiencing a huge victory turn into a devastating loss… God’s ways are mysterious,” Eric lamented, as Trump once again found out who his true friends were, some disappearing without reason, while others provided much-needed support.
On July 13, 2024, Trump was attacked at a rally in Pennsylvania by a 20-year-old assailant, Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was fatally shot on the spot. Eric recalled holding his children in his arms at the time, stating, “I was very angry but not surprised they tried to harm my father.”
Just 48 hours after the shooting, Trump didn’t stop his pace, and Eric introduced his father at the rally.
Kirk, 21, joined the Trump Organization, expressing his desire to change the mindset and beliefs of the younger generation. Eric sitting there, thought, “Wow, this kid is remarkable, with great ambitions.” Subsequently, he and Kirk shared the stage in speaking engagements about 100 times.
Eric mentioned that Kirk’s assassination had unanticipated consequences for their opponents. Around 37,000 new chapters applied to join “Turning Point,” filling American youth with vigor – differing in their views on humanity from their teachers, conservatism has become popular among young people. Who will they vote for in future elections? Eric said, “I think they won’t vote for the Democratic Party.”
A Chinese father holding five books waiting for Eric’s autograph stated, “Three books are for my children, one for each child.” The books contain precious pictures of the Trump family and Eric growing up.
Public education is crucial; history should not be distorted, textbooks should not be tampered with. Over the years, Democrats have been appointing people to churches, school boards, community committees, and election committees, “we better pay attention to those seats now, or the country will be lost,” Eric said.
Eric believes that “civic engagement” is one of the good things Trump did, “making a generation like me who grew up during the Bush era excited about politics.” Americans were once indifferent to politics, but young people today find excitement in listening to Kirk’s campus debates, making politics engaging.
Why create “Truth Social” platform? Eric pointed out that on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and predecessor of X, Twitter, Trump was silenced with fans unable to see him, making it difficult to express his views openly; although Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter was costly, “it might be the best investment he has ever made, restoring freedom of speech in the country.” ◇
