Henan Internet celebrity “Village Flower” dies of sudden cerebral infarction at the age of 34.

On June 4th, in Henan province, a 34-year-old internet celebrity known as “Village Flower” Hou Lili passed away suddenly due to acute cerebral infarction, at the young age of 34. Just a week before her death, she was still updating videos, helping her mother harvest wheat in the fields.

Hou Lili’s ex-husband Wang Lujun shared several videos on social media on the 4th, revealing that despite his constant care for several days, he was unable to save his former wife. He expressed his grief by saying, “You were in a coma for three days and nights, and I couldn’t close my eyes for three days and nights. Our two children are so young, you can’t leave them behind.”

According to Wang Lujun, the couple had known each other for 16 years and had two sons. They had not seen each other for two years since their divorce.

Some netizens noticed that on May 28th, just days before her untimely death, Hou Lili was still updating videos, mentioning how she woke up at 4 am to help her mother harvest wheat. In the video, she appeared to be perspiring heavily but still looked healthy.

Hou Lili’s sudden death sparked discussions online. Many netizens expressed shock and disbelief, questioning how someone could suddenly pass away. Some commented on the recent deaths of internet celebrities, expressing concerns about the increasing number of deaths among influencers.

Some internet users suggested adopting a healthier lifestyle by exercising regularly and reducing screen time to prevent such tragedies. However, others shared stories of unexpected deaths even among those who maintained a healthy lifestyle, raising questions about the possible impact of the ongoing pandemic on health issues.

In recent years, there have been several cases of young people passing away unexpectedly. On June 3rd, Shanxi internet celebrity Dagang also passed away suddenly at the age of 48, despite updating his videos on May 22nd. On February 15th, a grassroots internet personality known as “Off-road Tang Monk” was found dead in his rented room, confirmed by medical personnel to have died from a heart attack, and so on.

On January 31st, a netizen captured an electronic screen at a funeral home in Shandong province showing that out of 8 deceased individuals, 3 were between the ages of 14 and 31, 2 were under 50, and 1 was 55 years old, with only two individuals being over 70. Recent discussions on Chinese social media even suggest that the mortality rate among post-80s generation individuals exceeds 5%, raising concerns about the health trends.
