Feast of Music and Celebration of the Year End: Residents of Gank County Join Hands with Women’s Association to Spread Warmth

On December 15th, the Taiwan Benevolent Association in Orange County organized a “Feast of Music to Celebrate the Year-end” luncheon, in collaboration with the Taiwanese Women’s Association of North America Southern California Chapter, to donate toys and gifts to the abused children of the non-profit organization Laura’s House.

The president of the association, Zhang Xinzhu, stated that this was the first time the association held a year-end warmth event with the aim of gathering joyfully during the festive season and spreading kindness together. Since its establishment in 1994, Laura’s House has been dedicated to providing shelter, support, and educational services to victims of domestic violence and their children. The mission of the organization is to end the cycle of family violence and assist victims in rebuilding a safe and independent life. Everyone was invited to bring a gift donation to help abused children feel the care and warmth of the community during the holidays.

The “Feast of Music to Celebrate the Year-end” was attended by over a hundred people, including members of the association as well as representatives from various organizations. Notable attendees included the director of the Orange Bridge Center, Xiao Peiru and her husband, director of the Pasadena Taiwanese Center Chen Boyu, Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisory Committee member Xu Zhansheng, President of the Taiwanese Physicians Association of North America Yang Chixun, and Customs Association founding president Su Juncheng, among others, who showed their support.

She also thanked all partners and participants, noting that besides Orange County residents, many attendees traveled from various cities in Los Angeles County.

The Women’s Association regularly holds diverse activities, including health-related charity events and initiatives aimed at promoting family well-being. In the future, the association plans to continue promoting activities related to health and social issues, hoping to engage more of the younger generation. Huang Xinyao looks forward to taking action to help more people in need and collaborating with various sectors to bring about more positive influences to the community.

The luncheon featured a live performance by the band OC Boys, with attendees dancing to the music, creating a warm and lively atmosphere that enhanced interaction and friendship among members.
