According to a report by the Yangzi Evening News on August 21st, at 7:45 PM on August 20th, there were two or more sudden explosions in the main urban area of Yancheng City. During the explosions, the windows of indoor buildings in the Tinghu District of Yancheng visibly shook, and cars parked on the roadside triggered anti-theft alarms due to the explosion sounds.
Many residents of Yancheng provided feedback that most locations in the city heard the explosion sounds. On the 19th and 20th, residents in areas like Funing County also reported hearing what sounded like supersonic aircraft booms.
The report mentioned that after comparing the on-site video and audio, it was found that the explosion sounds in Yancheng were similar to the supersonic aircraft booms heard in many places before. Some residents reported hearing aircraft flying sounds about half an hour after the explosions.
