2 dead and 1 infant in critical condition as giant rocks hit car in sudden mountain collapse in Guizhou, China.

On the afternoon of October 7th, a high-level mountain collapse occurred on the Erdaoshui section of the G352 National Highway (location: K345+420) in Heshui Town, Yinjiang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province. Large rocks rolled down and hit a private car passing through this section, resulting in the death of two people in the car, while a baby around 1 year old is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.

There were netizens who posted videos claiming that on October 7th, an accident occurred in Erdaoshui, Heshui Town, Yinjiang County, Guizhou Province, where a car was hit by rocks, causing fatalities among the occupants. Another netizen mentioned that the incident happened at 4:30 pm on the 7th when rocks suddenly collapsed from the hillside, crushing the vehicle.

At around 11:40 am on October 8th, the staff on duty at the Yinjiang County government briefing room informed a reporter from “Red Star News” that one driver had died in the accident, two others were rushed to the hospital for treatment, with one person succumbing despite rescue efforts, and another currently in the intensive care unit with vital signs still present, undergoing lifesaving procedures. The staff also stated that rocks rolled down the hillside during the incident, hitting a vehicle, resulting in the death of two individuals so far, with the injured person in the ICU being around 1 year old. Relevant departments are addressing the situation.

According to an announcement on the official website of Yinjiang County government, on October 7th, the Guizhou Yinjiang Highway Management Section and the Yinjiang County Public Security Bureau Traffic Management Brigade issued a notice regarding traffic control on the G352 line in Erdaoshui, Heshui Town.

The announcement stated that due to a high-level mountain collapse at K345+420 on the G352 line (local name: Erdaoshui, Heshui Town), traffic was interrupted. Therefore, temporary traffic control was implemented on the G352 line in Erdaoshui, Heshui Town, starting from 4:30 pm on October 7th, with the resumption time to be determined.
