In northern Germany, a bizarre incident occurred recently. A runaway donkey named “Freddy” dashed down the road and unexpectedly jumped into a camper van, attacking the two people inside by kicking and biting. A 33-year-old woman who tried to stop the donkey also got assaulted, resulting in injuries to three individuals.
According to a report by the Associated Press on August 21, this incident took place in the Holssel area, south of the coastal city of Cuxhaven in the district of Landkreis Cuxhaven, Lower Saxony, Germany.
Local authorities stated that on that day, passersby noticed a donkey named Freddy (pictured

) and a horse escaping from their original enclosure and running around near a roundabout in the area.
A 59-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman driving the camper van stopped to try to help control the donkey. However, Freddy suddenly turned “highly aggressive” and leaped into the camper van.
The police reported that the donkey then launched attacks on the two occupants inside the vehicle, repeatedly kicking and biting them.
A 33-year-old woman passing by rushed to assist, attempting to stop the donkey but ended up being attacked as well. According to the authorities, she was kicked, bitten, and knocked to the ground by the donkey.
The situation was eventually brought under control by the donkey’s owner, who managed to retrain the runaway donkey and horse, finally bringing an end to the unexpected chaos.
The police mentioned that the two adults in the vehicle sustained minor injuries, while the 33-year-old woman required hospitalization for treatment of her injuries.
As of now, authorities are still unsure why the donkey suddenly exhibited such intense aggressiveness.
