Fire breaks out in BYD 4S Store in Fuzhou, flames shooting into the sky.

On the early morning of May 16th, a fire broke out at a BYD 4S dealership in Qingkou Town, Minhou County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. Video footage from the scene shows the fire spreading rapidly, with flames soaring into the sky and the showroom being reduced to a mere framework.

According to reports from Fujian TV, “Hai Xia Du Shi Bao,” and other media outlets, the fire at the BYD 4S dealership occurred near the highway exit at 12:32 am on May 16th. The burning material was electric vehicles parked inside the showroom.

Most of the cars in the showroom were completely destroyed by the fire, leaving only the skeletal remains of the building. Approximately seven vehicles inside the dealership were completely consumed by the flames.

The on-site videos show the intense fire coloring the sky red, a scene that was both shocking and devastating. The signage of “Qingkou BYD” flickered in the flames.

According to a report from “Jingzhou Daily,” a witness mentioned that the fire was massive. As it involved new energy vehicles, the batteries also caught fire.

A nearby resident shared that he was half asleep when the loud explosions startled him awake. He quickly pulled back the curtains and saw the bright red flames not far away, resembling daylight.

It is reported that the fire also caused damage to several privately owned vehicles brought in for repairs at the dealership.

Sources close to the incident suspect that a rooftop electrical problem may have triggered the fire. They mentioned, “From the video, it seems like the roof caught fire first, indicating a high likelihood of a wiring issue.”

Regarding the losses from this fire incident, the dealership staff mentioned that display vehicles were insured, but compensation and repairs for privately owned vehicles would need further negotiation with the owners. It is estimated that the losses from this fire are around 4 to 5 million yuan, as revealed by insiders.
